Short-form and long-form content are colliding, creating a new generation of flexible creators who can captivate across platforms and lengths.

YouTube, Netflix and other content platforms are morphing into outlets for a mix of short and long videos, and creators are adapting, no longer sticking to one format. From bite-sized videos to in-depth narratives, versatility is key as creators seek to engage fans across platforms and story arcs.

It’s not just about watching anymore – it’s about shopping, too, with TikTok’s e-commerce push and 58% of its users browsing for buys.
TikTok, once known for its 15-second videos, now supports multi-minute content as creators blend the quick cuts with lengthier narrative. As TikTok extends its video limit and YouTube dominates streaming, creators are crafting content that straddles both worlds.

Creators now need to master telling their stories in a range of formats, especially as the top platforms offer tools, and monetisation, to embrace the shift.
To cash in, creators are exploring more than just ads, with subscriptions, donations, and branded collabs in the mix.

The future of storytelling lies in the hands of the creators who can do it all: entertain, sell, and adapt.

How essential do you think creative executives are in film?
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 🍿 Can't make a blockbuster without them
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🤷‍♂️ A nuanced role, but not pivotal
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🎥 Pure Hollywood hype

“They are obviously fundamental. You can't just make a film, it's a complex project with many limits both financially as well as creatively, therefore creative executives are not just people sitting behind a desk making decisions based on personal taste, if they're competent, they are helping the whole project be successful. ”

TOGETHER WITH RECUT

If you make videos or podcasts, you know the toil of trimming tiny pauses on EVERY edit. How many hours could you save if Recut removed the silence for you?

Nick D. says, “I’m incredibly happy with Recut. I haven’t found a software that does a better job. I literally couldn’t produce my videos once per week without it.

It fits into your editing process as the first step. Recut's cuts are a mere suggestion: you can tweak them, keep some parts, and remove mistakes. Export super fast (and lossless) to your usual editor as a project (or as a video). It works with Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, and ScreenFlow.

From Dave, the creator: “I'm so tired of subscriptions! So I made Recut a one-time purchase with a useful free trial.

Adobe’s latest experiment, Project Music GenAI Control, lets you create and edit tunes using AI. It promises to be more than just a playground toy, with features tailored to fit the needs of podcasters, video makers, and more.

But not everyone’s singing its praises. Creators fear it could turn music into a bland, “lifeless” soundscape.

After all, who wants “artificial, plastic, and unnatural” beats? Some fear a “bland in a box” future.

Adobe’s been dabbling in AI for a minute now, with Photoshop filters, image generation and image enhancements. Still, the music scene is singing a different tune, and it sounds a lot like “We want the real stuff”.

Adobe's committed to playing fair with AI-made music, but this sounds like a sticky copyright situation waiting to drop the beat.

Apple is going all-in on AI, starting with the new M3-powered MacBook Air which the company touts as “the world’s best consumer laptop for AI”.

While Apple’s AI claims are difficult to verify – as AI often relies on cloud computing – it’s the first time the company has explicitly tied a product to AI like this.

For context: Apple hardly mentioned AI when it unveiled its homemade chip, the M1, and seemed hesitant to hype up the tech until a few weeks ago when CEO Tim Cook said there are “some things that we’re incredibly excited about”.
In just a month, Tim Cook went from rarely mentioning AI to saying they'll "break new ground" and talking about AI multiple times.

Flashback: Five years ago, Apple acquired AI startup Turi for a reported $200m. At the time, Turi’s tech was focused on developer tools more than anything flashy like a voice assistant.
At present, it’s not clear how Apple will market its AI offerings beyond its core developer audience.

But as history has shown, betting against Cupertino rarely works out. If Apple’s serious about AI, even the slightest gesture could reverberate across the tech landscape.
