PetaPixel

The experiment, conducted by PetaPixel, revealed that AI models like DALL-E and Midjourney can recreate iconic shots—from the World War 2 sailor kiss to Ansel Adams's landscapes—with just one attempt and in a matter of minutes.

But here’s the rub: these copies aren’t considered artworks, they’re just clever fakes.

Still, questions of copyright infringement loom large. OpenAI is trying to steer clear of these issues, but as the AI industry buzzes with image-generating models, it's hard to keep a lid on the potential legal minefield.

This move combines two brands that creatives often use side by side. Nikon's latest mirrorless Z9 has already been a hit with filmmakers, delivering stunning footage that can go toe to toe with cameras like the Arri Alexa. But it's the first time a Nikon camera has been seriously considered for motion work.

RED brings more than just cameras to the table—its RAW video format, called REDCODE, and its industry experience could help Nikon break further into the film world where brand name still means a lot.

So, will we see a Nikon-RED hybrid camera soon?

Is Nikon's acquisition of RED a game-changer?
