PRODUCTION MASTERY
The commercial aspects of creativity.
Adobe
Last week, Adobe confirmed that using its AI will now cost creators "Generative Credits" in Photoshop and Lightroom. If you run out, you'll keep access to the AI tools, but they'll run slower.
Adobe started tracking AI use per user at the beginning of the year, but creators say they didn't get clear notice. Adobe holds that it's not charging for AI, but rather for cloud and other services, and that a userās āCreativity Cloudā data will apply fewer credits to users who hit the limit.
The minimum plan gives users 100 credits a month, and the most common one gives 500.

š¼ļø YouTube: Test Your Thumbnails
YouTube
Now, YouTubers can A/B test up to 3 video thumbnails (the images that represent a video before you hit play) to see which gets the most love from the algorithm gods and viewers.
YouTube will show each thumbnail to a subset of a creatorās audience and dish the data on which pic drives the most āwatch time share.ā
Itās important to note that it may take a few days to a couple of weeks to get results, depending on how many eyeballs your video attracts.
It's all about standing out in a sea of video suggestions, and YouTube says thumbnails play a big part in grabbing attention.
Why the obsession with thumbnails? They're your videoās first (and sometimes only) chance to lure in viewers. With Browse Features, YouTubeās been pushing pro-level tools to creators to help them stand out. Last month, it was the Video Chapters for easy navigation. This month, the focus is on thumbnails and then some. YouTubeās also testing "@"-mentions in comments and an AI tool that helps you jump to the good parts.
