The FTC is probing Adobe over its cancellation practices, and the investigation could hurt the company’s bottom line, according to a recent regulatory filing.

The agency has been pushing for clearer cancellation procedures, including a “Click to Cancel” requirement. Right now, Adobe makes cancelling Creative Cloud a hassle—it doesn’t even send out renewal notices.

The FTC hopes to change that, but Adobe says it’s been in talks with the agency since before proposals were made in March.

Regardless, Adobe noted in its filing that any resolution or settlement “could involve significant monetary costs or penalties and could have a material impact” on the company.

 PRODUCTION MASTERY

Google

Google has quietly rolled out Imagen 2, its latest AI text-to-image model, but it's not for the average user.

This cutting-edge tech is only available to Google Cloud customers on Vertex AI, and they have to jump through hoops to get approved.

What can Imagen 2 do? Well, it can turn text into stunning, high-res images – no small feat.
Google’s DeepMind team showed off Imagen's skills, demonstrating how it can generate true-to-life human faces and hands.

They're pitching this as a tool for businesses, and it's not all talk.
Shutterstock and Snap are already on board.

But here's the ethical sticking point: Google hasn't shared all the details on how Imagen 2 was trained, leaving some to wonder about copyright and data usage.

Still, Google’s got a safety net in place, offering indemnification to its Vertex AI customers, just in case.

 CREATOR ECONOMY

TikTok is phasing out its original Creator Fund and pushing for longer videos.

The platform has gradually increased time limits to 10 minutes and is now testing 15-minute uploads. A

dult creators with 10k+ followers can join the new “Creativity Program” to earn money from longer videos that meet certain criteria. Some see the moves as a play to keep users on the platform longer and offer more opportunities for monetization.

But short-form creators are worried they’d lose out and struggle to make longer content.

Despite the changes, TikTok says creators have, on average, more than doubled the money they’re making from the app in the past year.
