The Story: Flashes, a new photo-sharing app linked to Bluesky, has launched in beta, drawing thousands of eager users within hours. The Details:
The Flashes app allows users to share up to four photos in a single post and includes one-minute video capabilities, enhancing creative options for users.
Harnessing Bluesky's decentralized technology, posts made on Flashes will concurrently appear on the Bluesky platform, promoting interaction across both apps.
Users can filter their feeds with three timeline options: "Trending," "Timeline," and a chronological "Following" option to see posts in real-time.
The beta testing phase faced hiccups with its temporary shutdown on Apple’s TestFlight service; however, demand remains apparent with over 3,500 sign-ups in under an hour.
Vogelsang plans to extend Flashes to Android soon and improve it with additional features like bookmarks and multiple account support.
