🌐 Fake Drones, Real Views

Google Earth Studio / benjamingugick

Creator Ben Gugick is racking up the views (8m and counting!) with a how-to on faking drone shots using Google Earth.

Sound cheeky? It is – but also kinda smart.
After all, flying a drone legally can be trickier than a Rubik's Cube.

Ben's not the first to try this trick, but he's got the likes to show for it. And let’s give credit where it's pixelated: Google Earth Studio is the star here, offering a flight plan for your footage without the FAA fines.

Just don't expect a key to the skybox anytime soon – Google's keeping Studio access on a tight leash.

They're cool with you taking a virtual spin, but the real clouds? That’s still for the birds – and paid-up pilots.

PRODUCTION MASTERY

In a world where photography oscillates between tradition and innovation, it’s a battle of old school vs groundbreaking, and everyone’s capturing the moments in between.

The traditionalists, a reverent bunch, view photography as a sacred art form, cherishing film rolls, mechanical shutters and the rules of composition.
Meanwhile, the pioneers are rewriting the visual playbook, using pixels as paint to create mind-bending masterpieces and warp reality in a few clicks.

But, hold the sepia-toned filter, is it really a battle?

Many photographers today straddle the line between the two, marrying the best of both worlds.

After all, why choose when you can create magic by blending techniques? Nostalgia meets innovation, and the result is a visual feast that transcends definitions.

So, let's zoom out and appreciate how photographers of all stripes shape the way we see the world.
