Europe's biggest photography event, The Photography & Video Show, is underway in Birmingham and Canon is stealing the spotlight with three new VR prototypes.

Yep, the company known for lenses and cameras is diving headfirst into virtual reality.

The first lens is a VR/AR hybrid, the second is a stereoscopic lens, and they're both designed for Canon's mirrorless cameras.

No word on pricing or release dates yet, but Canon is betting big on VR as the next frontier for creators.

It's probably just my preference, but grain gives me "nicely framed and filmed" vibes. Nowadays cameras are very clean, and it feels as if lots of movies were filmed for the sake of filming, without passion or vision. Old movies look great not because of it, but it was a nice addition (I know, not intentionally, but due to film tape and lightning etc.).

Atomos, known for its portable recorders, is reportedly “welcoming” the deal and looking to renegotiate its licensing agreement for RAW recording now that RED is no longer in the picture.

Additionally, the camera industry is on edge as AI tools like Sora threaten traditional videography methods, potentially leading to more corporate buyouts.

Well, AI is learned on scrapped images from artists that put their work for the viewers, not for the another one to sell it without knowledge or consent of the said artist. Credits are the least that can be done.
